Tampines Rovers FC VS Home United FC

Home United FC will take on S-League winners Tampines Rovers FC on 5th February in this season's S-League curtain raiser. Called the Great Eastern Charity Shield, which pits the RHB Singapore Cup winner and the S-League Champion. Both teams will be out to win the first match of the season.

Our Protectors, much changed from last season, have superb firepower up front in the dynamic trio of Shotaro Ihata, Frederic Mendy and Qiu Li. The trio will be ably supported by Shi Jiayi and John Wilkinson in central midfield. In pre-season, defensive frailties has been a major concern and our Protectors hopes to shore up its defence with the signing of Franklin Anzite.

For Tampines Rovers FC, they are also much changed, but only in terms of foreigners. The only foreigner retained is French defender Benoit Croissant. Joining him will be Croatians Sasa Dreven and Davor Piskor, and Macedonian Gligor Gligorov.

It will be an interesting match with both teams promising to field their best and play an exciting game of football.
