Home United FC VS SAF FC

Traditionally billed as the "titanic clash" between two giants of Singapore football, both Home United FC and SAFFC comes into this match knowing anything less than 3 points will harm their title aspirations. Lying third and fourth respectively, Home United FC and SAFFC are some points off leaders Etoile FC. The French team have taken the league by storm but has lately shown signs of fatigue.

Our Protectors comes into this match on a 7 match unbeaten run. The defence has been a strong point with only a goal conceded in the last match against Albirex Niigata FC. The knee injury to Ismail Yunos is unfortunate as he has played really well since his comeback from a similar injury. His absence will force Head Coach Lee Lim Saeng into reshuffling his defence. On the attacking front, Koreans Chun Jae Woon and Jun Wookeun have supported Captain Sharil Ishak ably, with the latter in rich scoring form.

This season, SAFFC have struggled on the attacking front. Losing Aleksander Duric and Therdsak Chaiman have proved difficult, as their replacement Frederico Martinez and Indra Shahdan have failed to sparkle consistently. The recent inclusion of Ivan Jerkovic in midfield to partner John Wilkinson have improved their offensive play, and the Warriors will look to them to pull the strings from midfield.

As in all derbies, the form book goes out of the window. There will be no holding back and both sets of players will gun for each other. In the previous meeting, both sides drew 1-1 at the Clementi Stadium.

With our defence being solid and difficult to break down, our Protectors should nick this one 1-0!

Probable Line-up : Lionel Lewis, Valery Heik, Choi Chul Woo, Rosman Sulaiman, Tengku Mushadad, Isa Halim, Shi Jiayi, Chun Jae Woon, Jun Wookeun, Firdaus Idros, Sharil Ishak.
