Geylang United FC VS Home United FC

Home United FC's new signing Chun Jae Woon is set to play his third match this Saturday when our Protectors travels to Bedok Stadium to take on Geylang United FC. The Korean attacking midfielder has sparkled so far with an assist and a goal in his first two matches. With Chun in the side, Home United have registered two wins on the trot. What is pleasing for the Protectors is not only the wins but the defensive solidity they have shown in the past two matches. In both games, our Protectors have kept clean sheets and this could be due to the return of Lionel Lewis between the sticks as well as the partnership of Valery Heik and forward turned centreback Choi Chul Woo. With this in mind, Choi Chul Woo is expected to remain in defence.

Geylang United FC have recovered well from their early season jitters, where they were trounced 3-0 the last time both teams met at Clementi Stadium. The Eagles are currently level on points as our Protectors and will look to leap-frog our Protectors with a win at their turf. The Eagles have also made changes to their playing personel by signing Korean Kim Jae Hong to replace Miroslav Latiak. The attacking midfielder had turned out for the Eagles last season, and is back for his second stint with the club. Geylang United FC comes into this match on the back of a 0-0 draw with Woodlands Wellington FC last weekend.

This match should pan out to be a tight encounter with both teams defensively stout. Which set of defenders will come out tops ? Come on down to find out and support our Protectors ! Kick-off is at 1930hrs, 15 minutes earlier than usual due to the World Cup 2010.
