Prime League 2010 - Back To Winning Ways!

Visitors Sengkang Punggol FC came to Clementi Stadium intent on soaking the pressure and counter-attacking. Playing with a packed midfield and a lone forward, Sengkang Punggol made things difficult for Home United. In a tight first half, Canadian Sherif El-Masri had two excellent chances to open the scoring but on both times he shot wide when faced with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Minutes into the second half, Faisal Samad was brought down in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Ridwan Osman stepped up to open the scoring. After the goal, our Protectors surged in confidence and began to attack Sengkang Punggol relentlessly. In one of the forays, Firdaus Kasman saw his goal bound shot parried by the goalkeeper but an alert Sherif El-Masri was first to pounce to double Home United's advantage. Sengkang Punggol FC responded later when Jasper Seet capitalized on a defensive mistake and scored with an unstoppable shot into the top corner. The game finished 2-1 and justified Home United's dominance of the match.
The team's next match will be on 16th March, Tuesday when we host SAFFC at the Clementi Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 1930hrs.
