To kick off the introduction, meet our first foreign signing, Sherif El Masri.

Sherif, is a Canadian Soccer player brought by FAS for the selection trials in November. He turns twenty next year and has played in both Canada and France. He represented the Canadian Under-17s, scoring seventeen goals in ten matches. During the trials, he impressed HUFC's coaching staff, who were present to see him score a few goals. Mr Mahalingam, GM of HUFC commented "Sherif is fast and his movements cannot be predicted. He moves well with the ball and possess good vision. He has an excellent left foot and a keen eye for goal" Sherif El Masri has been signed to fill the gap left by the departed Naruphol Ar-Romsawa.

We caught up with Sherif El Masri and done a short interview.

1) You've been in Singapore for only a short while, how has it been ?

It's a beautiful country and everyone seems friendly. It's really easy to get around. However, the weather here is too hot!

2) What are your aspirations for the coming season ?

I aspire to win the Prime League and play a part in Home United's S-League team to achieve the S-League Championship.

3) What are your long term goals ?

In future, i hope to play for a top club in Europe.

4) You are Canadian, but your name sounds otherwise. Why ?

My dad is Tunisian and my mom is from South America. They met in Canada and i was born there. My name "El Masri" actually means from Egypt.

5) What are your main strengths ?

I would say speed, good ball skills, a good left foot and a vision for goal.

With that, we ended the short interview.

Home United FC wishes Sherif El Masri a successful time in Singapore !
