HUFC's Opening "Home" Match
09 February 2010
Home United FC's first "home" match of the season at the Clementi Stadium was a party atmosphere. Plenty of fans turned up and they were served a treat from start to finish. Both teams entered the field to the beats and sounds of the SPF Drummers.

Barely had the fans settled down, Home United FC took the lead when Choi Chul Woo's cross-shot was turned into the net by Sharil Ishak. Thereafter, our Protectors dominated as Young Lions struggled for any kind of decent possession. The turning point for Young Lions came on 34 minutes. A cross from the left by Seo Su Hong was not dealt with by Lionel and the loose ball was then turned in by an unmarked Fazli Ayob. From the restart, the "home" fans were left stunned as referee pointed to the spot, judging Shariff Abdul Samat had brought down Seo. Luka Savic stepped up and scored with a cheeky chip to give Young Lions a shock 2-1 lead into half-time.

At half-time, the fans were treated to more music as the PRISONS Samba Band raised the tempo. The fans were enjoying themselves, dancing and moving to the beats of Samba.
The second half started with an early penalty awarded in favour of our Protectors. A Young Lion defender was judged to have handled in the box. Captain Peres De Oliveira stepped up but missed disappointingly. Thereafter, Home United FC created countless chances but just could not put the ball into the net. Deep into stoppage time, central defender Valery Heik popped up the other end to fire past Jasper Chan to salvage a table-topping point for Home United FC.
At the end of the match, a lucky draw was held for all Home Team members who have turned up to support our Protectors. Ten Kappa vocuhers and three HUFC replica jerseys were all given away to the lucky winners. Congratulations !
