Home United FC - 2009 Prime League Champions
30th September 2009
Home United FC's Prime League team has done the Club proud by clinching the 2009 Prime League Championship. With three matches to spare, our Prime League team wrapped up the title with ease. Head Coach Bernard Lan who took over the reins from the departed Surachai Jaturapattarapong in mid season, credits the team success down to the desire and comittment of all the players and staff. He also pointed out that a eight match winning streak in the second round proved vital in the team clinching the title.
The last time Home United FC won this championship was way back in 2004 when the talented and dimunitive Aliff Shafein led the team to its fourth straight title. The current squad also boasts several quality players. Most notably, Shahdan Sulaiman who last year was a regular in the Tampines Rovers FC side. His addition, plus the duo of former Young Lions Anuar Sufian and Firdaus Idros gave Home United FC much attacking prowess.
The quality of Home United FC's Prime League team has seen several of them called up for our S-League matches. Shahdan Sulaiman, Firdaus Idros and Naruphol Ar-Romsawa have clocked extended playing time, with Siddiq Durimi coming to the fore in recent matches.
Congratulations !!!
